Where to start! When I was eight I got my first skateboard, a Girl. Twenty-one years later I’d be hired by the designer of my first board @itsandyjenkins to be a part of @theartdump working alongside this group of “creative misfits”. When I started I remember trying to find my place, surrounded by some of skateboarding’s biggest talents and the artists who breathed life into the stories and visuals that made Girl so special. I poured my everything into the work. At times I took things too seriously. There were times that felt like things were crumbling around me. But more often than not there was excitement, creativity, freedom, and skateboarding! I cherish the lessons I learned along the way, the FRIENDSHIPS, and I’m proud and grateful to have contributed to this thing that’s so much bigger than any one person. Skateboarding, community, family.
If my math and memory serve me I’m also celebrating an anniversary, 30 years riding a skateboard! So here’s my reminder to self to stay on board, work hard, be humble, and have fun! Thank you @girlskateboards and @theartdump for everything.
