Quotes
Aaron Rose (Beautiful Losers fame) screened a short documentary film “Become a Microscope: 90 Statements on Sister Corita” last month at Cal State Northridge Art Galleries. Sister Corita (1918-1986) was a teacher, political activist and possibly one of the most innovative and unusual pop artists of the 1960’s. I’ve kept Sister Corita’s Art Department Rules on the wall of wherever I’ve worked ever since I first discovered them. I’m looking forward to seeing the film but no sign of a trailer or any video clips just yet. Until then…Rule 9: Be happy whenever you can manage it. Enjoy yourself. It’s lighter than you think.
“Between the idea and the reality. Between the motion and the act. Falls the shadow.” – T. S. Eliot
I love quotes, therefor I’m going to start posting them whenever I stumble across one that I like. Lets start it off with a little Mark Twain.
“Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.” – Mark Twain
