I stumbled upon this book today and am so happy I decided to pick it up…The book is available with a free DVD with fantastic interviews from some truly amazing humans. Andrew Wyeths words are especially inspiring. Please have a look wisdombook.org
Mural in West Philadelphia (unfinished) – Part of Steve Powers’ A Love Letter Mural Arts Project

Stumbled upon this old file and was really into the image (minus the type which I’ve removed) – I can’t remember what, if anything, this was suppose to be, but it reminds me of a fox!

Sometimes all you need are four letters and a punctuation mark to express yourself. I’ve censored this one for the kids.
For a while there I wasn’t sure when I’d get things figured out! Between work and play I couldn’t seem to find the time to tackle my malware infected wordpress installation and square away some server issues…until now! So welcome back…I’m looking forward to continue sharing with everyone! Not only is the blog back working (although a bit of a re-design is in store) but I’ve also launched nickzegel.com which, for the time being, is going to act as my portfolio site! Please have a look nickzegel.com

A little Hockney-esque colage of a make-believe pool on this hot July day…Summertime in the city. The public pool is calling my name…until then I’ll be listening to Neon Indian on loop.
Neon Indian – Deadbeat Summer
The two images below have shown up on nearly every hype hip hot cool snob best blog around the past couple of days…And like I mentioned in my last post it’s boring re-posting things that I’ve seen all over the net, however when a series of painted walls gets people excited I think its worth sharing. As my friend Bill said “It’s sweet…” (Check Bill’s recently launched fun little tumblr blog McRight On! where I actually first saw these images) – More info at any of the many links above!

Just came across this great little promo video for the upcoming show ‘The Must Be The Place’ happening @ the Scion Space Gallery in LA. This may be the first promo video I’ve seen for a hanging art show…and I like the direction. The motion graphics have a great feel and the production & design is on point! If you’re out west make sure not to miss some amazing work from some super talented young artists. More info >>
I spent the past couple of days lurking around Brooklyn, meeting up with good friends and checking things out. I got a chance to check out Mollusk Surf Shop and attended the premiere of Thomas Campbell’s new surf flick ‘The Present’…Spent some time hanging out with Mr. Ty Williams and Mr. Rob Kulisek which is always a pleasure, and did some doodling on some discarded books and such…Enjoy

I’ve been a fan of Alex’s work for a while now! I just stumbled upon his website via Club Mumble and was so psyched to see new work! The drawings completely mesmerize me and Alex’s use of materials is nothing short of perfect! Awesome work at AlexLukas.com
