Alan Fletcher’s book The Art of Looking Sideways has long been my favorite book and a never-ending source of inspiration. I was just looking for a few Alan Fletcher images online and stumbled upon this video of him speaking about The Art of Looking Sideways…Everything he says about the book I find to be true…
Pick up The Art of Looking Sideways…you deserve it!

Today I’m happy to announce two recent projects! First…The wonderfully talented Damien Correll invited me to contribute to Issue 10 of 5-9 Magazine a few months ago, and now Issue 10 is available for DOWNLOAD! The most recent 5-9 features a heap of amazing designers and artists so the 16 meg download is well worth it!
Second (and I’ve had to keep quiet about this one!)…Today Adobe announced Creative Suite 4! This past Spring I had the opportunity to work with Illustrator CS4 to develop an illustration/tutorial to be packaged with the latest release. Make sure to keep an eye out for my work when you pick up the CS4 release later this year!

The 2008 Belmar Pro kicks off tomorrow and runs through the weekend. Above is a graphic I did for some t-shirts, which will be available exclusively at the event this weekend! If you are in New Jersey take a trip to Belmar to see some top surf talent!

My friend Sean of Sam Champion and his girlfriend Sarah have launched a small collection called FRIENDS. FRIENDS has a seriously refreshing personality in an era of IN YOUR FACE advertising, fashion, and multimedia. Self-described as a brand dedicated to runs of “seasonally specific” clothing items, FRIENDS first offering is a simple trio. A utilitarian (and very attractive) pair of swim trunks, a 7″ single, & a zine. Cover your privates, drop the needle on your record player, and sit back under the sunshine while you enjoy a xeroxed publication. I dig it.

Today I was inspired by a neon sign that read ’sushi’. This may turn into something bigger…
By now you’ve most certainly heard of Brooklyn Phenom Santogold, but have you made it past the single L.E.S. Artistes? ‘Shove It’ is one of my favorites featuring the always engaging Spank Rock. Did I mention the cover art for Santogold’s LP is fantastic!

A few years ago I stumbled upon HillmanCurtis and their beautiful collection of films. I was particularly interested in their Artist Series films. The Artist Series features some of my favorite artists, such as Mark Romanek, Stefan Sagmeister, & Milton Glaser. I always go back to a couple of these films every few months or so and am just as inspired by them as I was the first time I saw them. This Milton Glaser piece is my favorite and I can only hope he is as RAD in real life as he is in this video. I almost cry watching this! INSANE!
“My belief is that if you like Mozart and I like Mozart we already have something in common, so the likelyhood of our killing each other has been diminished” - Milton Glaser
